Great and Holy Friday 2019 at St George’s Mission.

Here are some pictures from Metropolitan Basilios’ recent visit to New Zealand. His Eminence arrived initially in Auckland, where we all enjoyed a get-together and delicious supper, on the evening of Friday 22nd June. On Saturday we were privileged to have Sayedna celebrate a shortened matins service with us, which was followed by lunch at the Cook St Community Hall in Howick. Then off to the South Island, where Sayedna presided over Divine Liturgy at St Michael’s, Dunedin, on Sunday.

Visit to New Zealand of His Eminence Metropolitan Basilios

Metropolitan Basilios Kodseie, Antiochian Orthodox Archbishop of Australia, New Zealand and Oceania, will be visiting New Zealand this month. His Eminence arrives at Auckland International Airport on Friday 22nd June at approximately 3.00pm, and we invite everybody who is able to join us in greeting him.

Following arrival, there will be a reception on Friday evening. Details are yet to be finalised but current plans are for a function in the Haseler Hall at All Saints’ Church, Howick.

On Saturday 23rd June there will be Hierarchical Divine Liturgy at All Saints’, Howick, from 9.30am, after which His Eminence will depart with Fr George and Kh. Mary from the airport to visit our congregations in the South Island.

Unfortunately, as Fr George and Kh Mary are unwell, Divine Liturgy in Auckland for All Saints’ Sunday (3rd June 2018) has been cancelled. There will instead be a Reader Typica Service at 12.30pm, to which everybody is welcome.

The date of next celebration of the Liturgy will be posted as soon as possible. In the meantime, please pray for Father’s and Kh Mary’s speedy recovery.
